TUT adds the NSC achievement levels (1 to 7) of your best six subjects, excluding Life Orientation and excluding any subject scored at achievement level 1 (0-29%).
This score means nothing at another university – it can’t be compared with any other university’s.
What we couldn’t confirm
We have not independently confirmed whether the level-1 exclusion changes which six subjects are selected versus simply scoring a level-1 subject as 0 - we implement it as excluding that subject from the selection pool entirely.
A general contact-centre address. A 2024 fees document lists admission@tut.ac.za / 012 382 5750 / 5780, so ask which is current. TUT says it "will never charge any prospective student money for making enquiries" and asks you to report scams on its ethics hotline, 0800 006 924. We could not confirm a single TUT application page.

8 programmes across Engineering, ICT, Accounting, Education, Nursing, Hospitality
Full APS formula and 8 programmes captured from two official TUT 2027 enrolment PDFs. The formula’s "drop any subject scored at level 1" nuance is confirmed but not yet implemented, so TUT_APS is non-computable for now - each programme shows its published APS as reference only. BEd Foundation Phase (31 July) and Nursing (15 June) close notably earlier than TUT’s standard 30 September date.
